Blog 5: The Discovery Green Earth Day Event

On April 19th, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Earth Day event in Discovery Green Park. There were various activities that my classmates and I did to help out the community as well as the Earth, however, my favorite activity was making arts and crafts for children out of recycled material. I was able to spend the afternoon with dozens of brilliant children using old cardboard, scraps of fabric, and old plastic bottles to create puppets, kazoos, and maracas for kids to play with. It was very enjoyable and inspiring to help teach creative skills to a new generation of young minds.
